Guest Experience: Greet and seat guests, ensuring a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Provide menu explanations, offer recommendations, and answer questions related to food and drinks. Ensure guests' needs are met and address any concerns or complaints in a professional and timely manner. Oversee the dining area to ensure all guests receive prompt, courteous, and efficient service. Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and guide the front-of-house staff, ensuring high-quality service. Allocate and supervise tasks among servers, runners, and other front-of-house staff. Train and mentor new staff members, providing guidance on best practices and customer service standards. Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and service quality. Operational Management: Ensure proper setup and cleaning of the dining area, including table settings, equipment, and supplies. Manage reservations and ensure seating arrangements are well-organized to optimize flow and capacity. Monitor service flow, ensuring all orders are delivered accurately and on time. Assist in inventory control by ensuring adequate stock levels for service areas. Quality Assurance: Ensure food and beverage quality meets restaurant standards. Perform regular checks on cleanliness and hygiene in the dining area, bathrooms, and service stations. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Communication and Coordination: Communicate effectively with the kitchen, management, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service. Handle guest feedback, complaints, and special requests with professionalism and a solution-oriented approach. Report any issues or concerns to management promptly and efficiently. Requirements: Proven experience as a Restaurant Captain, Supervisor, or in a similar front-of-house leadership role. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. In-depth knowledge of food and beverage service and restaurant operations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Strong customer service orientation and a passion for delivering outstanding experiences. Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift and carry trays, and perform other tasks as required.
